Meroitic offering table, on which can be seen Meroitic writing.

Meroitic is an alphabetic script with 23 signs used in a hieroglyphic form (mainly on monumental art) and in a cursive form. The cursive version was widely used; so far more than 1000 texts are known.
The Meroitic script is written from right to left, unlike the Egyptian system which can be written right to left, left to right, and vertically. It uses two or three dots as word separators.
